Healthy Employer
The “Healthy Employer” certification quantifies your commitment to workplace health promotion and workplace health management. The award is given to companies whose workplace health promotion (WHP) or workplace health management (WHM) programs meet the standards of the CHES-based process—which involves a structured evaluation, assessment against clearly defined thresholds, and independent verification by TÜV Rheinland.
Transparently evaluated and independently verified: The “Healthy Employer” seal demonstrates that your workplace health initiatives meet the defined requirements of the certification process. If you do not aim for or achieve an award, you will still benefit from your individual “Check & Act Report,” which provides recommendations based on your information for the effective further development of your workplace health structures.
Path to the Award
The path to the award begins with our company-specific application questionnaire. You can access it using a personal access key. If you do not yet have a key or have lost your previous one, you can request one at any time by emailing [email protected] or calling +492285043642.
After submitting your application, you will receive your individual “Check & Act Report” within 14 days. If you achieve a target of over 50 percent in the area of WHP or CHM, you will have the opportunity to verify your result through an online confirmation process.

After submitting your application, you will receive your personalized “Check & Act Report” within 14 days, which will assess your current status in workplace health promotion and workplace health management.
If you reach the required rating threshold of over 50 percent in the workplace health promotion (BGF) or workplace health management (CHM) category, you qualify for the next stage of the process. During a subsequent audit, the information provided in your application will be reviewed and verified. If the audit is successfully completed, the “Healthy Employer” designation can be awarded and licensed.
The application and the “Check & Act Report” are free of charge and non-binding for you. Costs are incurred only once you have qualified and decide to proceed with the subsequent audit, verification, and licensing of the award.
Methodology & Verification
The assessment is based on the Corporate Health Evaluation Standard (CHES). It evaluates workplace health promotion and workplace health management across the dimensions of structure, strategy, and service offerings.
The evaluation is based on 66 individual requirements across 19 criteria areas. These requirements are continuously refined in collaboration with the Corporate Health Expert Advisory Board and the Corporate Health Committee.
In addition, compliance with the underlying requirements is independently verified by TÜV Rheinland.
All requirements and evaluation criteria can be found in the complete criteria catalogue »
Handled transparently
Transparency does not end with the evaluation criteria. The basis and purpose of the award are also clearly defined.
The underlying requirements and evaluation criteria are published transparently. Clearly defined conditions also apply to the awarding and use of the award. If the requirements are not met or are no longer met at a later date, the award may not be granted, may be suspended, or may be revoked. The use of the seal and the respective conditions of validity are also governed by binding regulations.
At the same time, it is clearly defined what the award stands for: The evaluation focuses on workplace health promotion or workplace health management—not on the company as an employer as a whole.
Awards granted are documented in a public award registry, thereby ensuring transparency.
