The Energy Transition Award 2025 – Award Ceremony: Honoring Top Energy Suppliers in the DACH Region and Selected European Markets
For the ninth consecutive year, EUPD Research has analyzed energy suppliers in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) as part of the Energy Transition Award. During The smarter E Europe, Europe’s largest alliance of exhibitions for the energy industry, this year’s most outstanding energy suppliers were recognized yesterday in Munich for their comprehensive range of products and services for the new energy world. For the second time, the Energy Transition Award was extended to include additional European markets, inviting energy suppliers from France, Italy, and Denmark to join the award celebration.
Bonn/Munich, May 09, 2025. The energy transition is a key prerequisite for a sustainable, secure, and affordable energy supply, not only in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland but across all of Europe. Energy suppliers play a central role in this transformation. They deliver technologies to end users and actively shape the transition on a local level.
The Energy Transition Award honors energy suppliers from the DACH region each year for their particularly innovative offerings in electricity, heat, mobility, and energy efficiency. In 2025, the award once again took a broader European perspective. Country-specific analyses focused on France, Denmark, and Italy to highlight key developments, challenges, and best practices.
The findings illustrate the diverse contributions of European energy suppliers. From new business models to the integration of digital technologies and the deployment of solutions such as photovoltaics, storage, and e-mobility, these companies are driving innovation. The Energy Transition Award 2025 brings this commitment to light based on independent, data-driven analysis and embedded in the broader European dialogue.
For the ninth time, the most innovative energy suppliers from the DACH region were honored at The smarter E Europe on May 8, 2025, in the categories: Electricity, Heat, Mobility, Energy Efficiency, and Energy Transition (cross-sector). The initiators of the award, The smarter E Europe and EUPD Research, are pleased to present the 2025 winners in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland:

In addition, the Energy Transition Award was once again extended to include key European target markets. Energy suppliers from France, Italy, and Denmark were invited to the ceremony.
The focus was placed on companies that specialize in renewable energy and stand out as true drivers of the energy transition. Based on their offerings such as green electricity and gas, solar PV and charging infrastructure, as well as their overall commitment to advancing the energy transition, outstanding energy suppliers from these three countries were identified as role models and invited to take part in the ceremony.
Elena Arman (Head of ESG & Employer Branding, Bluenergy Group), Mauro Gaggiotti (Innovation & Development Coordinator, enostra coop), and Anders Millgaard (CEO, Modstrøm Danmark A/S) joined a panel discussion to share insights on the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition across Europe.

With the Energy Transition Award 2025, EUPD Research and The smarter E Europe once again highlight the commitment of forward-thinking energy suppliers. The goal is to make progress in climate action and sustainable energy solutions visible, both in the DACH region and in other key European markets. We warmly congratulate all honored companies and thank them for their valuable contribution to the energy transition.
